One of the most beautiful spots near Seattle.
When I lived in Seattle, I had the opportunity to explore the surrounding. There is so much to see in this region, between the mountain, the national parks, the lakes, the sea… And everything is worth it but there is one particularly special place. It’s the Salish Lodge & Spa by the Snoqualmie fall. To me, this is one of the most beautiful spots near Seattle.
My husband took me there as a surprise for my 27th birthday and it was unreal. As its name reveals, it’s a waterfall in a town name Snoqualmie located about 40 minutes from Seattle.
It’s easy to access by car and there are many parking lots. It’s very famous and often crowd no matter when you go. The best time of the year to go and see it is actually during the winter. As it rains a lot, the waterfall is bigger than in the summer. It also looks even wilder and impressive. The cascade is located in the middle of the forest. When I went there, you couldn’t get to the bottom of it due to some work being done but there are great points of view from where you can see it really well.
You can definitely go there to spend a day. The best is to stay at the lodge located right at the top of the waterfall https://www.salishlodge.com/. It’s expensive but so worth it. The facility is gorgeous; the bedrooms are well furnished and so charming. There are two restaurants, one downstairs with a lovely terrace and a view of the water. The second one at the top, with fewer options but very nice too.
You can also use the spa to get different types of massages or just use the facilities. I had a massage there and it was great.
You can rent a movie for the evening and share a bottle of wine in your room. And also order breakfast in bed in the morning, they have delicious options. Everything is there for you to have a wonderful time, it’s extremely romantic which I love.
If you were to go there for a day, there are hikes that you can take in the forest and you can definitely take a picnic with you. It’s quite wild so you still need to be careful.
